GUHEM, Turkey’s first space and aeronautics themed interactive center.
GUHEM was materialized in an area spanning over approximately 13,000 square meters with the pioneering role of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bursa (BTSO) and cooperation and collaboration of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and The Scientific and Technological Research Agency of Turkey (TUBITAK). GUHEM is the first space-themed interactive center founded with the objective of bringing up younger generations that aim to conduct researches in the field of high technology as well as incrementing our country’s international competitive power through development of local and national technologies.

GUHEM’s aim is to allow all science lovers from all ages to acquire knowledge and experience in the fields of space, aeronautics and technology and to inspire younger generations by creating awareness throughout the society in this respect.

Conceived with a perspective focused on training and experience, the center adopts and embraces a contemporary and dynamic learning approach that encourages individual efforts through practices driven by questioning, experimenting and discovery. The Center is home to 154 interactive settings, an Aeronautics Training Center, a Space Innovation Laboratory, a Chemistry and Biology Laboratory as well as Mathematics, Robotic Coding, Space and Aeronautics Workshops.

GUHEM, which is among the largest centers in Europe and among the top 5 centers in the world, won an award in the category of “Public Buildings” within the scope of the 2019 European Property Awards.

Presentation and Introduction of the venue of a technological center like GUHEM via the Digital Twintechnology has been to the point. All of the areas open to visitors, except for the administrative parts of the building, were scanned by using the Matterport Pro2 Scanner. The obtained digital twin data were finalized as a result of processing the necessary information for a better understanding of the place.

A total of 523 scans were carried out in 1 day for GUHEM! Each scanning center is positioned to see many different structures and objects from the sight angle. In this way, the details and information that online visitors encounter at every step while visiting the center were brought to the fore.

Whether you visit online or physically, it is highly unlikely to get bored while going around in GUHEM!

When it comes to promoting and introducing such an interesting place, the solutions that Geo-Mat3D can offer are not limited to what has been said so far. Google Street View integration is one of the most important applications for more people to become aware of and get to know such public places.

Figure-6: In order to activate the Street View tool owned by Google Earth and Google Maps, it suffices to drag the icon onto the GUHEM building.

Figure-7: The center housing each and every scan made for generating the Digital Twin is also used as a display center in Google Street View. Navigating in the virtual tour is almost the same as moving around in Google Street View program.
